I love your adblock but can you please remove your ad for for lifetime License. #70
Comments
very annoying, the person who wants to donate will not wait for spam messages to do so, please remove that pop |
Its also frustrating me |
there is a userscript version available in the repository you can use in userscript plugins (tampermonkey etc.) so you don't hav eto pay |
@Monodark86, @CODLOP, @Avedsand I understand your issues and the overall experience is similar among the masses, I messed up a lot, the initial popup comes after ~500 ads which I thought was a good enough time where it'll be okay to show the popup with high frequency, not a good decision. I have already significantly reduced the frequency of the popup (by ~1533%) and it'll take the dev team a day or two to give it the green light and roll out the new version. Again, @gotexis, I see you copy-pasting this over every thread, please read the announcement.
It's not a hidden thing, the problem is, 1.3 doesn't work with the new YouTube patches but these patches haven't gone global so it may or may not work. If it does and you don't want to wait till I fix the frequency problem, you're free to downgrade manually. |
Thank you for the help in blocking the YT ads, I appreciate it, my experience of the license pop though is that it has been displaying very frequently and way before 500, I'm currently at 179 ads blocked and it's been displaying since around the 100~ mark, and sometimes when i close it it displays again straight away. |
I remember mine starting around 170 ish views |
@litszwaiboris, since 1.3, the extension didn't show a public counter but kept an internal count, overall it's an estimate. The v2.1 is out which has multiple improvements as described above, will show after 100 initial ads, if you have already been using it, it will space the popups after every 50 successful video ad blocks (not counting innumerable static ads). The extension won't need any reloads and won't stop working, you don't have to reload the tab, it will work regardless. You will just have to hit "cancel" and continue watching. Hope these changes receive a better response, I am now switching to performance issues and will survey the users and adjust again if there's still imbalance. |
Kay thanks @0x48piraj |
I know this issue is a week old, but I do have some feedback related to the lifetime license popup. Could the popup be moved to a less intrusive position? Right now the popup is in the center of the screen, covering part of the video and disrupting the user experience in a similar vein to other intrusive popups on the internet. (including the Youtube anti-adblocking one). I know you decreased the frequency of the popup to help alleviate its intrusiveness -- and thank you for doing that by the way! -- but moving it out of the way of the video (at least in normal, non-theater mode) would improve the free user experience. Which paradoxically might convince more users to pay for the lifetime license 😃 |
I'm more than willing to pay for your Adblock but after ever video i get your ad for your lifetime License.
if it's shown once or twice no issues but after every video can be really frustrating at times.
