<h2 class="subheading">Introduction to Markdown and MkDocs - Build Your Technical Documentation Site with Python and Markdown</h2>
<p>Participants will be introduced to the markup language Markdown via GitHub Flavored Markdown and Typora, as well as MkDocs, a static site generator that is geared towards building project documentation.
Markdown provides a more efficient and streamlined way of formatting documents. There will be a short introduction to Pandoc, a universal document converter which can convert between many markup formats.
<br><br>Using Markdown together with Python, participants can learn how to create a technical documentation site using MkDocs. The site can be built and served on GitHub Pages.

<p>A text editor is important to all who edit text. While being a programmer's vital tool of the trade, it's importance extends beyond just programming (all pillars, not just ISTD).
In this workshop, we will be running through the basics of Emacs (text editor) to get you started on your feet. We will also be introducing Emacs' vast array of features not limited to hierachical note-taking, literate programming with
python, interfacing with Git, writing Latex documents, et cetera (depending on the audience). And showcasing real-world (SUTD) use-cases for these features.
