Difficulty following running kubectl get nodes

hi, having severe difficulties with this. I've downloaded all the folders within 'A Cloud Guru - Kubernetes Deep Dive' from Github desktop to my system drive...still having no joy running the kubectl apply -f .\ping-deploy.yaml or even get-nodes command. When I do get nodes , all it is showing is my minikube. I'm running Windows 10 pro and minikube. I'm trying to runnthe commands from Powershell and Google Cloud SDK...I am new to this by the way
