By definition, precipitation nowcasting is the prediction of short-term rainfall patterns, and it is a vital component of weather forecasting systems. Accurate nowcasting helps in various applications, such as flood management, agriculture, transportation, and emergency preparedness. AtmoSeer is a Python framework that can be used to build precipitation nowcasting models, b by possibly merging (joining) features from multiple meteorological data sources, such as weather stations, rainfall gauge stations, atmopheric sounding data, and reanalysis data.
