Open Weather data not displaying

I've:
Signed up for OpenWeather 3.0 Api and go my Key
Installed the OW module
Set up the module in Periodic jobs
Checked openeather.json and the data is arriving
Added the OW variables to the AllSky variables
Added owWeatherDesction and owClouds to my overlay
Test data is displaying current info i.e 'cloud overcast' and '99'
But when I save and look on the live display, all I get is '???' for both fields.
If I delete the field in the overlay editor, the OW variable drops off the AS variable list and has to be reinstated
I'm on the latest version of RPi5 Bookworm and AS

BTW - loving this project, although a steep leaning curve for me from 1980's Basic and machine code I'm getting there.

When adding the variables check the 'type' dropdown and make sure its set correctly i.e. text or number

Try adding one variable at a time to the Allsky variables and see if that helps

BTW - I cut my teeth on the 4004/z80 and 6502 - Love machine code :-)

Thanks @Alex-developer but still the same.
I'm hitting the '+' next to AS_OSWEATHERDESCPTION checking the type is 'Text', it makes me add a description then save. I'm then picking it from AS variables, not adding/changing anything. The display sample data works but just ??? on live.
I was a 6805 man myself. I got that I could write/read the hex code from memory. I guess today that would be called 'sad'.

Have a look at userfields.json in ~/allsky/config/overlay/config The relevant sections of my file look like the below. Can you post the userfields.json file please

Ah, that seems to be the problem, all I have is:

}
and the file has not been updated for weeks.

Can you try changing the type when you add the variable - just do one e and see if the user field file is updated

Doah, user error. Although I’m saving when I select a variable, I’m not saving before I leave the variables list screen. Now it’s updating the file.
If you were here I’d be pouring you a large glass of something.

Glad you sorted it. I'll try and find a way to improve the process of adding variables after the next release

User error - shud ave pressed the 2nd save button when adding a user variable.
