write data from ascent to load in paraview

Is it possible to write data using ascent in a format that can be loaded in paraview for further post-processing?

With recent Ascent, you can create an extract that writes a set of legacy vtk files.

- action: add_extracts
   e1:
      type: "vtk"
      params:
          path: "my_output_"

These will be grouped by a .visit file. Paraview may be able to use this, if not there maybe be another paraview way to treat all of the output files as a single domain decomposed dataset.

@indra098124 yes, this path should also save all the fields. If you only want to select a subset to save, we would have to make changes to support that case.

I have this in my yaml file

but I am only seeing the mesh in the vtk. There are no fields. Is there something I am not doing correct?

Thank you @cyrush . I am also seeing that the files are being overwritten instead of being numbered based on the sequence. So in the end I get vtks only for one time step.

I can see the field, sorry that was the paraview issue on my end. The filename need fixing.
