Previous prototypes were using 3.3v logic against 5v LEDs which can lead to inconsistent colors and cause the LEDs to act weird. The previous prototype had no issues with the voltage mis match, but so far the v0.7 boards aren't liking the lower voltage.
Good news is that I planned ahead for this and have a solder bridge that just needs to be left disconnected and a logic level shifting mosfet to be put in its place. When those mosfets arrive today I'll verify that the LEDs are more stable.
The last hurdle to getting a couple of these shipped out is figuring out how to make soldering the LEDs easier. Even with hotair and an extremely fine soldering tip, I'm still destroying about 10% of the LEDs and also pulling out about 10% of my hair trying to get them to flow well. The release version will be pick and place so it won't be an issue
