Feature Request - reports - accept variable 'user_input'

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Reports which accept user input would occasionally be handy. E.g., ArctosDB/arctos#7998 would probably be slightly more accessible (including sharable) as a report than as SQL. (#46 might make that slightly less true.)
