There is no ICSP header on the board. Is it possible to upload sketches using a programmer or reinstall the bootloader ? If so, does it use the standard AVR SPI pins and which programmers are supported ? Thanks.

Thank you. For posterity, the advice regarding Atmel Studio applies equally to the Arduino IDE. It works just fine for burning a bootloader and sketches using a USBasp programmer with the non-standard hookup. (Arduino 1.8.5, MacOS 10.13.5).
PS this is for my own-design board, not the Sparkfun CAN485 product ;)
