What
Customer this week (5360890-zd) asked for a way to duplicate an FSE template; I expected to find the option in the 3 dots next to the template - but there was no such option. Next, I expected to see the possibility to create ALL types of templates under the Add new button - but regular page, 404 etc. did not appear there.
I provided a convoluted workaround that involved copy pasting code from an existing template into a new page, then saving that as a draft so the new template is added to the list, then deleting the draft.
In retrospect, an easier solution would have been to open the template in question and then save it as a new one, but the Duplicate button suggested below would be a cleaner solution.
Why
It's helpful to test alternative templates without necessarily editing the default one - because if you make changes and then revert to default, you lose all edits with no way to save them.
