Just to confirm I've really understood what will be happening; will we be creating static websites of our choice using the Contoso Real Estate website as a sort of "base". Contributing to the Contoso project by creating PRs from the issues can then earn you a contributors badge though not a requirement?

Hello @DannyK05 - That's a fantastic question.

Fortunately, the repo is configured to run in a GitHub Codespace, a virtual environment on the browser, hence no need to clone or install anything on your local PC. You can activate Codespaces for free through the GitHub education pack

Hi @Nyaluogo - if you need to deploy to static web apps, you'd need an Azure subscription, otherwise, there are instructions to deploy on GitHub pages or simply set up the development environment without deploying anything

Hey @chikipack - thanks for trying this out!!

Checking ..

Just to check that I have the right context:

1. You are looking at the Deploy Website for the Developer Guide section of the docs
2. You already tried the local preview to validate that you have the website working locally
3. You now want to deploy the Developer Guide (website) to GitHub Pages on your fork.

Use GitHub Actions to Deploy

1. The environment settings are useful only if you want to manually deploy the website. See their example with this command GIT_USER=<GITHUB_USERNAME> yarn deploy - showing how env var can be used at command line.
2. However, in our docs we recommend setting up for automated deployment with GitHub Actions with commits.

This takes 3 steps:

• update docusaurus.config.js to have the projectName and organizationName reflect your fork.
• add a .github/workflows/deploy.yml that automatically builds/deploys this on commits
• configure publishing source to "Deploy from a branch" and select gh-pages (/root) as the option.
• Now when you commit changes to your repo (personal fork) it should automatically rebuild the developer guide website and deploy it to GitHub pages.

🎉 | Your GitHub Pages site should be building/deploying automatically now

My Deployment (For Reference)

• I created a personal fork of the project here
• I updated my docusaurus.config.js file (see "deploy related--" section)
• I added this docs-website workflow file under .github/workflows/ to automate.
• I visited the Settings > Pages section of my fork on GitHub and
  • set Build and Deployment "Source" to deploy from a branch.
  • set the branch to be my gh-pages build (see below)
    
• I committed changes in my repo which triggered the workflow to build and deploy the site. You can track the Actions progress on GitHub to see if any errors occurred.

🚨 | Keep In Mind

Since the 2 file changes (docusaurus.config.js and .github/workflow/docs-website.yml) you make are local to you and will not be in the original. If you "pull" new updates from the original later, you need to make sure you merge them correctly into your personal repo so they don't override those changes.

Do let me know if you were able to resolve the issue and I will update the docs to point to this for others who have similar questions

First take a look to this page https://docs.github.com/en/billing/managing-billing-for-github-codespaces/viewing-your-github-codespaces-usage , there you can see if u reach the max hours , like this.

If u reach the maximum you can try operate locally or maybe @john0isaac or @anfibiacreativa had another idea , by the way first can we take a look and see if u reach the capacity.

Can someone please asset us on fixing the #253?
Me and @thestarsahil have been trying to install Angular Libraries for days with no luck.

I have tried the following libraries:

• @ng-bootstrap/ng-bootstrap
• @coreui/angular
• @ngmodule/material-carousel

Each library either breaks the application conflicting with apolo library or doesn't work due to incompatibility.
We need a carousel library that is compatible or guidance on how to configure the listed libraries above.

All PRs opened before 31st will still be reviewed & merged for sure. We had a couple of folks learn about this hack together towards its ending, so we had a short extension to accommodate those who wanted to contribute as part of this initiative.

However, the project will still continue to accept individual contributions post hack together and everyone is invited to keep contributing!
