Could you put the barracks outdoors...?

Hmm, since furniture can only be placed indoors, that would mean building an above ground covered room. Not sure where to go with this.

it's totally possible to place cabinets (but not beds) aboveground, under the sun.

Once I've done that, I

• simply make a barracks from that cabinet,

• assign the squad to train there,

• disallow the squad from training in their previous barracks
  (Not sure what Squad Equipment and Individual Equipment does)

Note that very commonly, both the archery target and the eastward armor stand will define a barracks each.
