It's time for a revamp of butlerlogic.com.
Butler Logic is supposed to be an R&D lab for the tech industry. As such, we're shifting our messaging to better align with that purpose. This thread will focus on the messaging for the new website.
R&D
Our research and development may grow/change, but will be primarily focused on the following areas:
SDLC: We'll be promoting CLI-First development, event-oriented architecture, and (probably) the unix philosophy.
OSS: We'll publish research about the OSS community and its relationship to people and commerce.
SDA: We'll publish materials focused on best practices, especially those which we define. This may be best practices for designing data platforms, how to develop a web app, etc.
HR: We'll continue to publish research about the tech labor market. We'll tackle big issues, like finding and retaining the best people, how to make people productive, etc.
Services
Butler Logic will still provide professional services, which will continue to be the primary source of revenue. However; we are shifting how we'll engage with customers. We will be much more discerning in the types of projects we take.
Advisory Services
We will advise organizations, help prepare executive briefs, and drive projects. This is a true consulting service, producing information instead of deliverables.
Solutions
Butler Logic will start offering tailored solutions, using products from other Ecor Ventures. For example, a data platform can be built with Author Journal, Metadoc (DataHub), and EnableDB.
Technical Architecture
We will provide specific "pre-packaged" services.
Community Resources
We'll provide free information and resources to the community.
