Summary

Outline and better understand existing strategies for batch linkage and/or re-linking. Specifically, strategies used post data ingestion to improve on patient clustering.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Pull together any resources related to re-linking
  • Strongly consider interviewing Micheal Peels to learn more about how batch re-linking works in NBS 6

Background / Context

Batch re-linkage can help mitigate linkage drift, which may be challenging for small person clusters but becomes resolvable as data volume increases. However, as the size of an MPI grows, periodically re-evaluating the entire cluster becomes increasingly complex. To address this, it’s crucial to strike a balance between the frequency of re-linking and the volume of data being re-evaluated. The objective is to explore how others in the field have approached this challenge and identify potential strategies for moving forward.
