The Orange County Data Portal http://ocdp.lib.uci.edu is a special view of Dash. The URL redirects to a search:
https://dash.lib.uci.edu/xtf/search?smode=orangecounty-home

Matthew McKinley noticed that neither the URL nor the phrase "Orange County Data Portal" is in Google. We've tried adding it to the About page, and making sure that Google indexes it, but no dice:
https://dash.ucop.edu/xtf/search?smode=aboutPage

Matthew has a theory about the redirect:

Another possible fix: to optimize indexing for redirects, most people recommend using a 301 redirect instead of the “temporary” 302 redirect. See: (https://www.hochmanconsultants.com/301-vs-302-redirect/) When I load ocdp.lib.uci.edu with a web console running, I see it is set as a 302. Is it possible to change the redirect to a 301?

Do we know why we use 302 for the http status? Could we change it to 301?
