Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
At the moment, when I log in, I have no way of really knowing if it worked. We should make it clear whether the user log in was successful or not.

Describe the solution you'd like
As a user I would like to clearly see whether I am or am not logged in.

Kind of fixed by #19 but would be good to get some UI help on this.
