Standalone version works just fine. LV2 version can't be loaded, but it's subject for issue #194

Thanks for reporting this! It's definitely strange that the issue appears in the plugin but not the standalone version. I would be curious to know if the same issue occurs in other hosts, and if the same issue occurs when trying to launch a file browser from the preset menu?
One thought is that the host is blocking the plugin from creating native file browser window. I would be curious to know if any other plugins have a similar issue in Ardour, or if there are other plugins which are able to successfully open a native file browser window in Ardour?
Anyway, this might be a little tricky for me to debug since I don't have a non-headless LInux system set up at the moment, but I'll see what we can do!
