[BUG] VST3 BYOD's Amp IRs do not open file explorer if click on custom #193

In VST3 version of BYOD Amp IRs do not show file explorer when choose custom option

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Instantiate VST3 BYOD in Ardour
  2. Choose Instant Metal preset
  3. In Amp IRs click under IR and choose custom
  4. Nothing happens

Expected behavior
After clicking on Custom the file explorer should appear

Desktop

  • OS: Linux (Fedora 36)
  • DAW Ardour6.9
  • Version 1.0.2 (Night build)

FYI:
Standalone version works just fine. LV2 version can't be loaded, but it's subject for issue #194

Thanks for reporting this! It's definitely strange that the issue appears in the plugin but not the standalone version. I would be curious to know if the same issue occurs in other hosts, and if the same issue occurs when trying to launch a file browser from the preset menu?

One thought is that the host is blocking the plugin from creating native file browser window. I would be curious to know if any other plugins have a similar issue in Ardour, or if there are other plugins which are able to successfully open a native file browser window in Ardour?

Anyway, this might be a little tricky for me to debug since I don't have a non-headless LInux system set up at the moment, but I'll see what we can do!

Custom Ir load works fine here in Reaper.
