That project does not really need a code challenge.
"Code Challenge: Prior experience in Python must be demonstrated. Prior experience with message-oriented middleware frameworks such as ZeroMQ can be a plus, although not mandatory."

As you see above, we just need a way to confirm you know Python and preferably frameworks such as ZeroMQ. It is actually too little time for you to learn Python for this project, unless you are already familiar with the language.

All our "code challenges" are there to establish only that.

As I am an absolute beginner to GSoC, what do you expect me to do to get selected? Do you want me to contribute to other's python projects so that you may know that I have python experience? What will I be basically doing in this project?

Being a beginner to GSoC will not negatively impact your chances. Most contributors are newbies to GSoC.

Since you already know Python, if you have done other open-source projects in Python, you can include links to those in your project proposal.

Please go through the project idea and ask if you have specific questions.

I am interested in this project and have experience with ZeroMQ as well. I wish to know if the project is available for selection (for Gsoc) this year, also I wish to know if there's a priority system for projects to be selected in case the available slots for selection are less than the number of ideas.

This year's project ideas can be found from https://github.com/uaanchorage/GSoC
There is no priority system for ideas. But the proposals are ranked globally. This is the common approach in ALL the GSoC organizations. We do not rank the project ideas on their own - rather than proposals.

I have been reading the code implementation of funbody.py, and I have some questions :

• How one should go about implementing the connection between IN2 and OUT2 ( also can you elaborate what IN2 and OUT2 are )as referred in the figure.
• How funbody.py and pmpymax.py are currently communicating (i.e. the code flow)
• If we are applying Zeromq between the PM and the controller (that are funcall and cpymax) why are we labelling the edges corresponding to IN2 and OUT2 (My apologies if I got it wrong)
