find a picture or graphic with gimp fileviewer is so hard!

I like Gimp, but I don't like the own fileviewer!
It is not comfortable on Windows and it is a lot more hard to use on android.
Can you use standard operating system fileviewer please?
With the Gimp fileviewer i need to know exactly the path where i can find the right pucture or graphics.
Then the preview is same like on Windows not preview a image without i have not jet select the file one time first.
The preview is verry small.
All the application on android using the original operating Fileviewer.
Only gimp don't like to go the standard way.
Want do do some goid for your great application then allow more compatibility how to pick a file for loading.
