24-Oct-2014 03:23 build of spreadpi crashes during startup

I installed the 24-Oct-2014 03:23 build, it crashes during startup.
I replaced with a version provided by Scann:
http://jonathonduerig.com/scanning/duerig-test5.img.gz
Which works perfectly.

My setup is two Canon A2500 cameras with CHDK installed ( bootable ), brand new raspberry Pi B+. I turn on the cameras before powering up the pi.

If someone can explain to me how I can run the spreadpi code in such a way that I can capture the error messages, I'll happily re-install the Oct 24th code, re-run, capture the messages and repostpost. In the meantime, I attach a ( LARGE ) Jpeg screenshot of the error messages which come up.

I am a newbie to GitHub and SpreadPI, so please let me know if I am using GitHub inappropriately.

I think this is due to a small change introduced to the device communication in that day's commit. I have a suspicion as to what causes this error and just pushed a fix for it. A new image should be built by tomorrow morning (German time), could you try it when you find the time and report if it helps?

Also, no worries, that was a perfect first bug report, and highly appreciated 👍 The text-log is a bit tricky to get without the web interface (you need to SSH onto the box and download /home/spreads/.config/spreads.log), so that screenshot is fine.
