[FEATURE REQUEST] Display first reminder item next to menu bar icon instead of count #217

I would like to propose a feature enhancement that changes the current functionality of the menu bar icon. Instead of displaying the count of reminder items next to the icon, it would be more useful to show the first reminder item itself.

Displaying the first reminder item directly would provide immediate context and improve usability by allowing users to quickly see what the next task or reminder is without needing to open the application. This could enhance productivity and keep important tasks top of mind.

For instance, if the first reminder is "Finish the report by 5 PM," the menu bar icon would display this text instead of showing "1" (if there is one reminder).

Proposed Changes

  • Add an option to allow users to update the menu bar icon to show the text of the first reminder item instead of the count.
  • If there are no reminders, the icon could display "No Reminders" or a similar message.
  • Text can be truncated if it exceeds a certain character limit to maintain a clean interface. Users can always click to open the popup window to see the full reminder text. This can also include an option for users to change the truncation behavior, such as setting a maximum character limit or disabling truncation entirely.

Thanks for maintaining this app!
