What storage controller did you add?
SATA? IDE?
Did you also add a virtual hard disk?

Tried it with SATA and IDE, with and without a virtual hard disk

you can try to go in the settings from the virtual machine in the systeme settings and enable the EFI
i have the same problem and and that's what worked
(you dont need this sofwere
