add support for the Portuguese language of Brazil #10288
Comments
Oh nice idea. Could you pleaes make a PR for this? |
I haven't done it yet, but I can do it. I verified that the file for the pt-br locale needs to be created. I will also mention that issue. |
A pull request will be opened for the request that is in progress. |
@GraoMelo Obrigado (one of the few Portuguese words I know) for considering a pt-br PR. Just so you are aware, we've had several members of the community work toward internationalization in DefectDojo though I don't believe any of those efforts were complete. I just wanted to make sure you're aware that after creating a translation file (.po) pt-br won't be showing everywhere within DefectDojo. I know a while back we had a contributor changing the UI to use translated strings but, to be honest, I don't believe they completed that work before moving on to other things. We'd be happy to have a pt-br translation especially since I only know maybe 12 Portuguese words (and verbally only) so I can't do that work ~ but ~ some of DefectDojo will reflect those changes but likely not all. Just didn't want you surprised. 👍 |
Describe the solution you'd like
As a DefectDojo user, I want the system to have support for the Brazilian Portuguese language, so that Brazilian users can use the tool in their native language, improving accessibility and the user experience.
Portuguese is the 5th most spoken language in the world, with around 260 million native speakers. Of these, approximately 215 million are in Brazil, which represents a significant portion of DefectDojo's potential target audience. By offering support for Brazilian Portuguese, the tool will become more accessible and inclusive for this large group of users, improving its adoption and usability.
