Currently the downstream boundary condition for all sub model normal depth runs is hard coded as 0.001. NWM hydrofabric should always have a field for reach slope. Have you considered using the NWM reach slope as the sub model downstream boundary condition? It may yield more accurate sub model water surface elevations for reaches that use normal depth.

@mdeshotel what do you think, I think that is what we should have been doing. NWM reaches do have a slope somewhere as far as I remember. We can also calculated it from RAS last two XS.
I thought I had already suggested this in another issue.. maybe not. I would prefer to use the NWM slope. If you use the RAS cross sections to come up with a slope you will inevitably have some reaches with adverse slopes.
