There's a website uploading books published by Mir, which are loved by many.
Here are the links :
https://mirtitles.org/category/physics/
https://mirtitles.org/category/mathematics/
I am not sure about copyrights though, I've read somewhere that Mir publishers closed down but I think that doesn't entail the books becoming public domain.
If someone could check the copyrights then let him do it please! I think these books would be interesting for this repository.

Isn't archive.org quite untrustworthy though? I'm more worried about the moral side of trespassing on copyrights (If you meant using archive.org as a safe haven).

archive.org has a robust DMCA process; I know the folks who run it and I trust them to be responsive to copyright concerns. Mir books may be a good example of "orphan works"; I don't know the background of the mirtitles.org site.

Can I translate Mir's books (specifically Physics A General Course by I.V Savelyev) into another language and upload it to the library? (It is completely non-commercial) We are a non-profit Physics club consisting of physics majors and high school students participating in IPhO, we simply want to translate It's to help future students. However, we tried to contact the copyright holders to ask for their permission but could not.
