Usually (in my understanding) is because the wikidata / OSM name doesn't match. But this happens often in cases such as statues ecc. that in OSM are often nameless since we don't use descriptive names, while in Wikidata the label is often "Bust of John Doe".
I would just exclude from the "items with no match" tabs the items that are already matched in OSM, so items whose Q-code appears as wikidata=* value in the database.
...on the other hand... I just found and fixed a wrong name in OSM (in Wikidata was correct) thanks to this procedure. But in my case was an historical palace. Maybe excluding artworks could be a start?
The John Harvard statue https://osm.wikidata.link/Q6238106 is listed in "items with no match" for Harvard Yard https://osm.wikidata.link/no_match/way/29818112 despite the fact that the OSM entry has a matching Wikidata ID.
Other items which seem like they should be matched in Harvard Yard, include:
Sever Hall - https://osm.wikidata.link/Q7457805
Pusey Library - https://osm.wikidata.link/Q110654670 (there's a slight mismatch in the coordinates for this one, but given the name, type, etc it should still match)
