Powering off doesn't update screen to show poweroff.png #162

Describe the bug
When I turn off my reMarkable, the screen keeps the last screen.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Turn on reMarkable2
  2. Click on the power icon in Oxide
  3. Click on Shutdown

Expected behavior
The screen should be updated to show the poweroff.png before actually powering off,

Screenshots
reMarkable in powered off state.

Version Information:

  • Device: [reMarkable 2]
  • OS: [2.5.1.45]
  • Version [v2.1-beta~5]

Additional context
Other things installed: Genie and Fingerterm.
tarnish-journalctl.txt

Oxide journalctl is empty.

Oxide doesn't handle displaying the power off screen. That's handled by the system. It sounds like this might be an issue with rm2fb and not oxide.

I did some testing after you mentioned rm2fb and it seems you are right on the money. Removing rm2fb fixes the bug and installing it makes it show up again.

Removing rm2fb will break Oxide though as it's required for displaying to the screen.

poweroff goes through remarkable shutdown binary to display power off screen, iirc, which is not setup to work with rm2fb.

please open issue on rm2fb to track this
