At GEMconf today, @ef4 presented Cardstack CMS which allows inline editing of content. It seems that it could work well with WordPress, but it would require the ability to send changes back to WordPress to persist them.

The promise of Cardstack CMS provides the incentive to invest the time to make this addon support write operations.
