Form validation when inout field is required

Does the datetime picker handle form validation if the input field is required?

"handle"? What are you expecting here? The picker itself doesn't offer that kind of validation, but if your input field is empty then standard form validation should handle that. If I recall correctly, form validation will ignore readyonly and hidden fields by default.
