If I have heard it once in the Zoom room, I have heard it a dozen times - "You've got MultiCast and MultiSync confused", or "No, you want the other Multi - you're confusing them since you only seem to be aware of one of them"

There's no obvious reason why MultiSync isn't just Sync. I get MultiCast because there is a UniCast and you need to be able to tell them apart.

Let's stop confusing newbies and make the program more clear and intuitive - save the Zoom room for non-self-inflicted problems.

Just my thoughts. Multisync is the actual name of the technology that does the time sync between player and remote, this is where the name comes from. Can it be confused with multicast for average users, yes. The names are not just made up they are actual correct technical names. I personally see the confusing but would not vote to change the name to some arbitrary name. Just my 2 cents.

As a retired programmer, the philosophy I have always heard is to avoid the programming vocabulary in the GUI and always use the vocabulary of the user, or the vocabulary of the task. There is no advantage to exposing the actual programming terms in the GUI and we have well established that it's confusing to users.

I certainly see your point. Multisync is not 'programming vocabulary' but an industry standard term. I am curious would you recommend renaming E1.31, DDP, and ArtNet as well ? Or would you not consider this 'programming vocabulary' ?
Anywhoo, I'll leave the discussion to the dev team.
