Actually, I have never proposed this patch set to be included in the upstream code base. As far as I understand, the openBSD project prefers LibreSSL over OpenSSL (thus I guess the patch set would be rejected, anyway). Back in the day, I implemented OpenSSL support mainly for my personal needs - and I still use it in my homelab.
I must say that I don't know the general demand for OpenSSL support in OpenNTPD.
There is still some polishing that should be done, such as fixing the old issue regarding to IPv6 segmentation fault. Since I heavily rely on IPv4, I have never really cared about the issue. However, if the patch set would be proposed to upstream, the issue should be fixed (obviously).
Has this patch set been rejected upstream to be included in the OpenNTPD code base?
