Syphon Break - Tasks

Gameplay

Add powerups that are dropped randomly

General energy boost

Speed boost

Screen bomb (hurt enemies on screen)

Energy syphon speed boost

Syphon range extender

Time dilation - slow down enemies and bullets but not player

Add manual shielding which also depletes

Damage when colliding with an enemy ship

Restrict gameplay to the visible area (sans HUD)

Polish up the main menu

High Score screen

Controller setup (or at least a help screen)

Credits screen?

Add a few more types of enemies

Especially those with more elaborate movement patterns or groupings

Also add end-level bosses?

More complex hitboxes (multiple spheres)

Create a more interesting overall goal

Maybe finding pieces to repair your ship to escape the region

More weapons for the player?

Graphics

Implement proper scaling for HiDPI screens

Render some kind of graphic/effect for siphoning energy

Create sprite graphics for everything and polish them over time

Sprites for bullets

Sprites for player and enemies

HUD sprite design

Visual effects with shaders

Add a CRT shader

Particle effects with blur?

Starfield display in the background
