Classic Scrapbook had a great option of editing simple text notes inplace, in the bottom part of the sidebar. I miss that a lot! It lets you write down notes without interrupting your browsing.
If you click the x mark it just closes without much realigning. If you select another item, this one is automatically saved and that one is opened. It always word-wraps and never HTMLs. There are no toolbars, no distractions. And you can still open the note in a separate page through right-click.
This has an added benefit of knowing for sure that you're editing a plain text note. I like not to deal with HTML in notes.

Yes, that was great in terms of usability, Currently, the replacement is comments, which could be accessed by the callout button in the top right of the bookmark properties window. Although it is possible to implement this, this is a thing of future.
