Description

Implement the Stablesats feature using the Blink GraphQL API to Alby so the USD denominated account can be used to send and receive.

Background

There is already an implementation where only the BTC denominated account can be used. Details at https://dev.blink.sv/examples/alby-connector

Task

Submit a PR to Alby that will allow Blink users to use an API key obtained via the Blink Dashboard to connect their Blink account and choose between their BTC and USD denominated wallets.

Alby already allows adding fiat-denominated accounts, although users will currently need to add multiple accounts to Alby because currency can only be set on account level.

Steps:

• Allow users to select their account during account addition
• Change the connector to support fiat-denominated account configs
• Change the requests to the GraphQL endpoint so they use the right wallet

Reference implementation:

• The now unused Kollider connector which used multiple currencies

PR awaiting review from the Alby team is close to completion:

The PR is now merged to Alby main branch and fulfills the requirements:

• Allow users to select their account during account addition
  • there is a dropdown menu in the connector
• Change the connector to support fiat-denominated account configs
  • invoice creation is done with USD cent accuracy (however still denominated in satoshis and displays USD cent on the side - to be improved in Add unit switching within the "Amount" input getAlby/lightning-browser-extension#2511)
  • send from USD balance
  • history is displayed in USDcent denomination only
• Change the requests to the GraphQL endpoint so they use the right wallet
  • tested successfully
