Feature description

  • Zenodo can be integrated with GitHub so that software can be cited by itself, i.e. not simply as part of a journal article. Once set up, I believe it continues this automatically for each new release.
  • Many of our repos could include specific citation language in the docs and/or readme. Probably not all of them, but more than we have now.
  • You can also add this information to a citation.cff file

Use case

We often need to cite our repos, and it's tiresome to re-do the Zenodo steps every time. It'd be good for us to employ it as standard practice.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Zenodo integration working + confirmed with new release
  • Citation-worthiness evaluation completed for all repos to determine whether they should have specific citation language in readme/docs
  • citation.cff file added to all repos
  • DOI badges where relevant
