The European version uses higher resolutions compared to its NTSC counterparts for both 4 and 8 MB.
Interestingly, the internal resolution for PAL 4 MB never changes and stays at 320x230px with all backgrounds being dumped as 320x240px in size.

Currently none of the room backgrounds while playing the PAL release load in HD.
