Goals

  • Have basic monitoring of key metrics
  • Define thresholds for when the afore-mentioned monitoring needs to alert those supporting OPS in production
  • Create reasonable alerting based on the thresholds and monitoring above.
  • Have as much configuration as possible defined in IaC

Tasks

  • Decide what tooling will be used? Azure-native? Azure Monitor? something else?

Additional Context

  • Production obviously has different monitoring and alerting needs than any other environment.

Some Azure monitor availability monitoring already in place and linked to alert rules
