Manifesto

Hello! I'm Sammy and would you believe it, I'm running for the HackSoc Marketing Secretary! It is a popular sentiment that marketing is evil, and I fully intend to utilise the evilness available at my disposal to ensure the growth of HackSoc and/or some level of world domination.

My experience as a child with unsupervised internet access took me down many paths, one of which being an Instagram meme account that I owned for many years. Not only did this provide me with embarrassment to this day, it also gave me experience in many skills that would be essential to marketing HackSoc, from general social media management skills to full experience in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, both of which allowed me to create my own original content which reached millions of people.

Additionally, I have knowledge inmaintaining a Discord server, previously owning one with hundreds of members. I feel that utilising both the Discord server and the Instagram page are essential to helping pique the interest on members and non-members alike to join in with the many fun events that the society puts on!

Also, I have a couple fun ideas for some socials that the society could run! I feel that putting on more "social" socials, much like Spokes Programming Café, would help build the community of HackSoc allowing people to get to know each other more!

If world domination is indeed on the HackSoc agenda for the upcoming year, I will note that I successfully managed to run advertising campaigns for all parties in my Sixth Form's mock elections, not only allowing me to always come out on top, but to also indirectly manipulate the vote to my liking. My Head of Sixth Form was merely a puppet ruler controlled by me. I also removed his door.
