Anne has given us five images that she's donated to the project to practice on: 51541, 51542, 51550, 51551, and 51552. They are all the same kind of work (3D and a relief sculpture), so it might be good eventually to get an example that's 2D, like a painting or drawing.

Created the necessary CSV tables to generate this as a start for 51550 and created the Wikidata item Q113814896 which Charlotte is going to try to enhance manually. I will do the upload to Commons and link to that page.

Issues:

  • Anne's photos have two people listed and the script only handles one for now
  • The "file available on the internet" structured data needs to be able to have a qualifier with the image URL
  • Are the filenames that are used in the downloaded files unique?
  • Can I get access to the raw files directly without having to download?

Updated CommonsBot script to no longer require accession number and to be more generalizable. Tested by creating new item https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q113956653

In a 2023-04-05 email, Jodie said that the largest versions of the images available are the largest she knows of unless the Div library has some higher res ones somewhere else. So downloading those would be the way to get the files to use in a Commons upload.

She said the download URL is in the form of

https://diglib.library.vanderbilt.edu/cdri/fulljpeg/filename.jpg

The value to be substituted for filename can be found in the ImageLink column of the database dump.
