HSTracker doesn't work with Hearthstone on an external disk #1025
Comments
this was opened a month ago, I'm wondering if anyone could look at it. There is probably a big number of people that would love for this to work portably on a mac. |
I'm just a random passerby... but since nobody else has stepped-up, I'll give it a shot. 😜
I'm afraid I don't have an external drive to experiment with... but since you didn't specify any of your attempted "solutions", I'll have to ask the obvious: ...is your "non-standard Hearthstone location" verified in the HSTracker preferences? Best of luck! -TM |
I am experiencing the same issue with an external drive. The location is verified in the preferences. |
First of all many thanks for trying! I've only seen that the post had comments today, however I play the game every day and its really a pain to see updates coming that don't address this. Maybe other use this as well for a number of reasons, for example because it's a work pc and they dont want to install games on it. Thanks also to the user mshandrovskiy for posting that this doesn't work for him either. If others see this and this is aproblem for you please please post here. Answering the question, yes it is verified and when you open Hearthstone the icon on the bar turns to color, meaning that HSTracker can detect that HS was launched. The application does nothing however and all statistics and card lists are empty. |
As far as I can tell this is a hearthstone problem, I think the logs are not there or malformed (don't remember). Without the logs HSTracker cannot function properly. |
If you look into the logs produced by the tracker it should tell you why it is not tracking. Feel free to paste it here so we might figure something out. |
Hi there - experiencing the same problem. I installed Hearthstone on an external drive using battle.net client. After installing HSTracker it askes me to point to the Hearthstone directory. I do that and it gets verified (?), showing a green mark behind the corresponding setting in the options. HSTracker starts up normaly, I see the tracker overlay but no cards are being displayed. No tracking is happening at all. I can't identify the logs, could you point me there? |
Is this still an issue? Need hstracker.log for any chance at trying to fix it. |
Still an issue for me as well. Here's my hstracker.log:
I've also checked the log files that Hearthstone is supposed to generate, and they are all empty, though they are created even if I delete them. Seems like that's the issue, though not sure why. |
@TrueshotBarrage Does Hearthstone create its log file on the default path |
@fmoraes74 The default path doesn't exist, since my Hearthstone installation (aka the "Hearthstone" folder with all the contents) exists inside the external drive. The log config file should be correct, it's pretty much the default one with all the FilePrinting = true. Does HSTracker only work if the logs are in the default path? The HS logs I meant were inside the |
@TrueshotBarrage Well, the question is whether Hearthstone is not working correctly to produce the logs then. I will ask if anybody on Hearthsim knows if any reason it could be not working. |
Hi,
I have Hearthstone installed on an external harddrive.
I have a MacBookPro with HighSierra 10.13.6
I'm using HSTracker 1.5.4 (1969) for mac.
Using it when Hearthstone is locally on the mac works fine.
Using it with Hearthstone is on a external drive doesn't.
I have navigated the forums and tried all solutions and it's not working, I've found other members with the same problem, which leads me to think this is more of a feature not implemented rather then a pure bug.
Anyway here is stays, it would be a massive improvement if it works as some of us can't have the game on the local disk for several reasons.
Thanks
