Wont recognize inputs on main screen

Im pushing buttons on my controller and keyboard and none of them are accepted as start

I downloaded the client on windows 10 64bit, configured it so it knew where pcsx2 was on my computer, along with my roms folder, launched it, and on the title screen of deadlocked, with ratchet lying on the table, it wanted me to press start, and it didnt recognize any of my inputs as start, neither on the controller or on the keyboard

This sounds like a PCSX2 misconfiguration issue
