For which schema is a change/update being suggested?

I would like to request an update to the donor_organism.json schema.

What should the change/update be?

I would like to add a new field - comorbidities - to this schema to allow data contributors to describe comorbidities or secondary diseases of the donor.

This update constitutes a minor change to the schema(s) it affects.

What new field(s) need to be changed/added?

  • Field name: comorbidities
  • Field description: Short description of comorbidity(-ies) or secondary disease(s) of the organism.
  • Field type: array of ontology module
  • Required: no
  • Guidelines: Primary disease should be described in Known diseases field. Leave empty if no known comorbidities

Why is the change requested?

Many bionetworks are interested in the comorbidities/ secondary diseases of the donor recorded separately from the primary disease(s).
