the log file appears to include spaces for all of the structures even if there is no error message

The errors log also reflects problems with depth-percent damage functions that result in confusion for the user. THe x vals are coming back as not monotonically increasing, even though they are, and the y vals are not monotonically increasing in the tails, as provided in guidance.
