Overview of the Feature Request
To support machine learning datasets, and also proper citation of data sources or related datasets that are used in secondary analysis, this field could be improved to include the PID, URL, title, citation, etc. as structured fields for entering information about related datasets and citing. Overall, this is inspired by the analysis done by Stephanie Labou https://zenodo-rdm.web.cern.ch/records/11269191, slide 11- where it is outlined how repositories can be better setup to support machine learning datasets.
What kind of user is the feature intended for?
All users / depositors with machine learning data, or data that is derived or secondary research data without having to deposit the original sources we can promote this practice of citing data and sources (where possible), which is needed for machine learning deposits and secondary research.
What existing behavior do you want changed?
Change from open text field to structured field with PID / DOI , URL, title, citation fields and subfields and cross walk to DataCite and Croissant.
Any brand new behavior do you want to add to Dataverse?
This could be structured similar to Related Publication and be added to the initial metadata deposit form
Any open or closed issues related to this feature request?
