This was requested by a partner installation, see RT 260903.

They have added a custom metadata block and would like to make those fields harvestable. Though we do provide a dataverse to dataverse json harvest, it is not clear whether custom fields are supported and the clients are limited to dataverse 4+ installations.

In earlier versions of Dataverse, we supported harvesting of custom fields, I believe, by mapping them to the Notes field in the DDI. Is that an option now?

It turns out the user has a requirement to harvest from OpenAire, which appears to use oai_datacite format. Since there is already a ticket about that #4318 I'm closing this one.
