When selected items are truncated with an ellipsis, there is no other way to see all the selected values other than by opening the menu list again and looking at them.
Examine a better way to display the truncated values.
Suggestions:

  1. scroll. The multi-select field could be scrollable with the mouse.
  2. tooltip
