Hi @FL303, when you have time can you please check this PR and let me know if there is anything to edit? |
Hi @ugho16, thank you and sorry for my late reply. |
Hi Florian, as I'm sure you can clearly understand from our website, customer stories, and other product and positioning material, our offering should not be nested under "PaaS and DevOps Platforms" but instead under "Platform tooling to build your IDP", since that is exactly what our product does. Actually, we've been calling ourselves a "platform builder" since years. We're happy to submit a completely new request to make it clearer in any aspect that was eventually not so clear; but I believe it's important and just fair that we are presented in the adequate section and with the correct messaging, for the benefit of the community and the transparency of the website. Thank you for your attention. |
Hi @nicocambiaso, thanks for the additional information. Which category in the tooling section would that be? |
Hi @FL303, we market Mia-Platform Console as a single product combining the capabilities of a Platform Orchestrator and of a Portal. The platform orchestration (as per Thoughtworks definition) is definitely the core, while the portal front-end is an extension — actually we know people who use Mia-Platform as the core platform orchestration and Backstage on top as a portal, for example. |
@nicocambiaso could you please help me to find the section in docs where you explain your approach to dynamic configuration management, similar to Kratix promises or Humanitec Resource Definitions? Another example would be how Massdriver handles infra and app configs (they call it bundles), see pages like following ones: |
Hi Florian, you're right, the documentation is pretty extensive and it's not always so easy finding all the information one is looking for!
Let me know what do you think, if you find any information is missing we're available to integrate with other links and documents. I believe that you're doing a great job with this website and we really appreciate you being so thorough in verifying and positioning in the optimal way all the elements for the reference architecture. Thank you! |
Hi @nicocambiaso, thanks for providing the links, I wouldn't have managed to find this info. Please give us some time to review your docs. Btw, it would be way easier if you would offer a free trial like others do. |
