Hello,

why is the tyre code 255-720 R490 invalid? Which specifications have to be fullfilled?

Kind regards

Dear @Steinbachson,

The error you get is because of the dash (-).
You need to replace it with a slash (/).

Please pay extra attention to the units you use.
They need to be set according to the regulation.

The first number represents the width, measured in mm,
the second is the aspect ratio in percent (%),
and the last one is the rim diameter in inches.

You can find more information in the glossary in co2mpas.io:

Dear @dimitriskomnos,

the PAX-tyres are official tyres deposited at the german KBA. We especially use the tyre with the label: 255_720 R490 AC 117H

An umbilling into the standard measure which is given by CO2MPAS is not allowed.

Is there the possibility to implement the PAX-tyrecodes in CO2MPAS?

Kind regards.

Dear @Steinbachson,

We will note down your request, and try to implement the PAX-tyrecodes for the next release. But if possible, please inform us for the specifications of these tyres.

For now we suggest that you try to reconstruct this label to a label that CO2MPAS can understand.

  • either in ISO metric, for example LT265/75R15 D, 315/70R22.5 D
  • or numeric, for example 32X11.50 R 15 LT C, 7.50R16 C 112/110N

Let us know if the above help you to proceed.
Regards.

Dear @dimitriskomnos,

when will the next release be available? Reconstruction of the label is not allowed for the case we use CO2MPAS for.

There are more information about the PAX-tyrecode attached (only in german available).

Dear @gfon,

this is a procedural issue. The label for PAX-tyres is a legal name so it has to be used and cannot be reconstructed by someone else for legally regulated processes.

Am I right that there will be absolutely no option to use the tyre-label before the new release? We need it very fast.

Kind regards.

@Steinbachson

It is not possible to make a co2mpas release only for this issue in a reasonable time. I understand from your email that this is a procedural problem. There could be a solution to this if an equivalence table linking the dimensioning of your tyres to the standard ISO one could be provided to us. CO2MPAS requests the tyre information for its internal calibration of mainly tyre rolling radius, so it should be technically feasible to use such a table. As we would have to involve colleagues outside the JRC to accept and confirm such an approach please write an email to us on the CO2MPAS functional mailbox ([email protected]), and we will take over from that point as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding
