<h2>A Flexible Modelling Framework</h2>
<p class="item-intro text-muted"></p>
<img class="img-responsive img-centered" src="img/portfolio/modelling-large.jpg" alt="">
<a href="https://github.com/JS-MF/jsmf-core">JSMF core source code</a>
<p>The JavaScript Modelling Framework (JSMF) has been designed for providing a flexible modelling environment [1] that could support the requirement of natural modelling [2]. It is a JavaScript embedded DSL inspired by the Eclipse Modelling Framework (EMF) in its basic functions but that rely on JavaScript dynamic typing and on a relative independence between a metamodel and a model.
</p>
<p id="my-test">
<script>
const JSMF = require('jsmf-core')
, Class = JSMF.Class
, Model = JSMF.Model
//Create a Class Person with attributes name and age.
var Person = Class.newInstance('Person');
Person.addAttribute("name",String);
Person.addAttribute("age",Number);
//Create a Class Family with attribute familyName and a reference to a set of elements
//conform to Person Class.
var Family = Class.newInstance('Family');
Family.addAttribute('familyName',String);
Family.addReference('familyMember',Person,-1);
//Create new model element me (conforms to Person) and my Family
//conforms to Family.
var me = Person.newInstance({name:'me',age:1});
var myFamily = Family.newInstance({name:'myName'});
myFamily.familyMember=me;
//display the array of persons in myFamily
console.log(myFamily.familyMember);
//display the class me is conform to: Person
me.conformsTo();
</script>
</p>
<p>
Because of its integration in Web technologies it is quit straighforward to provide visualisation of JSMF models.

<h2>JavaScript Model Transformation</h2>
<p class="item-intro text-muted">Transforming models with JavaScript</p>
<img class="img-responsive img-centered" src="img/portfolio/transformation-small.jpg" alt="">
<a href="https://github.com/JS-MF/jsmf-jstl">JSTL source code</a>
<p> JSTL is a model to model transformation engine that handle JSMF models. JSTL simplifies the transformation writing while leaving some responsibilities to the transformation developer following JavaScript way of thinking (e.g., the developer has to check for concurrent rules).</p>
<p>In JSTL one can define a model transformation using two patterns: in/out. The in pattern is a function that matches input model elements. The out pattern can generate multiple modelling elements. JSTL is an embbeded DSL which mean that it takes benefits from the Javascript (functions) which can be used as helpers. Moreover JSTL can be used directly in Javascript programs that manipulates JSMF models.</p>
<p> One simple example is used to transform two related model elements that conforms to A and B into elements that conforms to C and D following the figure presented here. We present below the two transformations rules, that can be launch whilst specifying input and outputmodels.
<pre><code>
//First Rule C->D
var trule2 = {
//Filters from the input model all the element that conforms to class C of Metamodel MM
in : function(inputModel) {
return inputModel.Filter(MM.C);
},
//Create elements that conform to class D with id of C becoming a "num" of class D.
out : function(inp) {
var d = MM.D.newInstance();
d.num = inp.id;
return [d];
}
}
//Rule with relations
var transformation1 = {
in : function(inputModel) { :
return (
_.reject(inputModel.Filter(MM.A),
{name:'special'})
);
},
out : function(inp) {
var b = MM.B.newInstance('');
b.nameB = inp.name+'_transfo';
this.assign(b, 'toD', inp.toC);
return [b];
}
}
</code></pre>

<h2>Managing Heterogeneous Models and MDE artifacts</h2>
<p class="item-intro text-muted"></p>
<img class="img-responsive img-centered" src="img/portfolio/modelmanagement-small.png" alt="">
<p>Model management is key when dealing with a multi-perspective, multi-stakeholder models of systems. It encompasses all the tools necessary for ensuring consistency, being able to classify, relating the different modelling artifacts (i.e., model, metamodels, transformation, modelling elements, etc.). Moreover, it is intended to be used for impact analysis over modelling artifacts (e.g., risk propagation) belongings to different models. </p>
<p>As first entities model elements can be use to describe any components of the managed models: i.e., it uses models elements to describe, models, metamodels, viewpoints, transformations, etc.
</p>
<p>
A typical graph of interconnected modelling elements (as persisted in Neo4J DB). Here describing the relationships and elements of a risk analysis (impacts, vulnerabilites and mitigations) for a medical laboratory- it comes from three different models (some expressed in ArchiMate, Excel, etc.).

<h2>Model Checking and Model Navigation</h2>
<p class="item-intro text-muted">Model manipulation fundamentals.</p>
<img class="img-responsive img-centered" src="img/portfolio/magellan.jpg" alt="">
<p>Model Checking is one important think to address when dealing with flexible model: without control dealing with flexibility is like using plain data. In order to get all the benfits of the MDE approach it is required to ensure that the model has some property. The first citizen property is the conformance.</p>
<p>A second important point is the navigation/query of model called JSMF-Magellan. In order to facilitate the model handling we provide an API that permit quick model traversing (e.g., following specific relations, properties) or filtering. Magellan can be used as a basic component for model transformation or for higher abstraction API.</p>
