Not compiling when minted is enabled

I know that I have to use the -shell-escape when compiling but am not sure where to add it to the config file.

I added this but still not sure how to fix it

I am not sure if I can write here, but I have the same problem and the proposed solution does not work for me. If I run the command pdflatex -shell-escape ... from the terminal it works ok. However, it fails when I try to do the same using the recipe I created (it contains one command pdflatex, which is described in tools with the same arguments that I use when running from the terminal). Here is what I get in the log file:

Thank you for answering! I changed the env in the description of the tool (added "PATH": "copied here the path that I get by printenv in the terminal") and now it works. For me it's a bit strange: it looks like VSCode internally uses another path. I installed VS Code last year, while Pygments only last week. So maybe VS Code uses the old path for some reason (dumb guess, of course). Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

No it is not a question of old or new paths. You most likely launch VS Code by double clicking its icons, which means VS Code does not inherit the values of the environment variables set during shell initialisation. Look for a line starting with [Extension] $PATH: in the LaTeX Workshop logs. This is the value of PATH, VS Code uses (in fact any GUI app not launched from a shell uses this value).

I found the log file you mention and it shows the correct path. And another mystery occurred: for some reason, now all tools work well, even those with the empty env, which didn't work yesterday.
Never mind, let's forget all this as a bad dream:)
